The Story

The House on the Dunes is the story of young Juan who runs away from the city to become a disciple of the sea. Near the shore he meets a mysterious old fisherman, don Andres, who lives in a simple shack set among the dunes and who teaches Juan the art of fishing. Under the guidance of don Andres, Juan learns how to commune with the fish, the ocean and the wind. In time Juan comes to ask the questions that underlie all others: What is the line between life and death? What is the desire of our hearts? Who are you? Who am I?
