The Story

Bob Lorentzen worked as a timber cruiser in the last virgin forests of Mendocino's Sinkyone Wilderness. He lives on the Mendocino Coast, loves to find new trails and works as a bookseller when not writing hiking guides.Bob moved to Mendocino County in 1974 after working as a community VISTA volunteer in the San Joaquin Valley. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1972, with a degree in community studies.
