Renaissance: The Rebirth Of Liberty In The Heart Of Europe: The Rebirth of Liberty in the Heart of Europe

The Story

Vaclav Klaus was appointed finance minister of Czechoslovakia in 1990, shortly after the demise of that country's communist government. Two years later he was named prime minister of the Czech Republic, & in that capacity he became one of the most effective spokesmen for classical liberal ideas in the world. This book brings together 29 essays & speeches by Klaus, all of which were originally written or delivered in English. Klaus discusses a number of issues, including what he believes were the most important steps toward restoring the rule of law & bringing prosperity to a region that had neither & how it was possible to achieve such radical change in a short period of time.
