The Story

Poignant, funny, unabashedly sweet-spirited, My Dog Skip is a paean to an age of innocence. Willie Morris tells of his youth and of a dog named Skip, who was his closest companion in almost everything he did. Skip was a remarkable creature. He could play baseball and football. He was a dog the whole town knew, and he shared Willie's adventures as he grew up during the war years. Skip seemed to understand English better than some humans. He even fell in love with the same girl Willie did.
