The Story

Hope for Today, Al-Anon's newest daily reader, is based on the collective experience, strength, and hope of Al-Anon's adult children members. The powerful sharings of inspiration and hope on these pages unfold one day at a time and are applicable to anyone who lives,or has lived, with the family disease of alcoholism. Hope for Today is the exciting follow-up to Al-Anon's first two daily readers, One Day at a Time in Al-Anon (B-6) and Courage to Change (B-16). Like its predecessors, it provides thought-provoking meditations on a wide range of topics all the way from Acceptance to Wisdom. Stepping out from the shadows of our daily readers, however, it also includes subjects such as Accountability, Compulsive Behavior, Consistency, Dominance, Emptiness, Escapism, Facing the Past, Feeling Different, Fun Gentleness, Growing Up, Integrity, Leadership, Miracles, and many, many more not previously covered. What these diverse sharings all have in common is the pervading sense that no matter how difficult or painful our past experiences have been, there is every reason to hope.
