The Story

Adam Benson, the Chicago Bears' quarterback, confides to sportswriter Ed Buck that he is being forced by the mob to throw games, and that he intends to play to win against the New York Giants. When Benson dies during the game--apparently of a heart attack--Buck convinces a detective to begin a murder investigation.
