The Story

Iris Lanier, an anthropologist at the top of her field, is close to a breakthrough that could solve the mysteries of an ancient Mayan tomb where the skeletons of five women reveal a nightmare world of brutal violence. But on the verge of discovery, Iris is called to New York and into a nightmare of her own - her father has been viciously shot and lies comatose, near death. When the police are unable to solve this savage crime, Iris is compelled to enter the dangerous vortex of lies and long-buried secrets by herself. Haunted by an ancient specter, she must journey through time and deception, ripping open the old wounds that were caused by her mother's abandonment and disappearance, questioning all that she has believed and built her life around, confronting her own private demons - Iris Lanier has entered a fight to the death.
